Training Plans

Alpine Endurance offers training plans for mountain biking and backcountry skiing/splitboarding.

Before starting the below training plans:

  1. Consult a Dr. if you’re unsure of your physical readiness.

  2. Ensure you’ve read the EducationTraining Zones and Strength training sections fully.

  3. Have obtained your Aerobic Threshold Heart rate (See Get Started).

  4. Be eager to take ownership in adjusting the plans to suit your unique individual needs. The plans come with directions on how to increase or reduce training load as well as how to rearrange the scheduled days to suit your life.

Both our Mountain bike and ski touring training plans (below) include:

  • Endurance sessions 3-4/week

  • Simple intervals. These are worked into the end of some endurance sessions

  • 2 x week strength sessions

  • Guides you through progression & rest for each month and progresses through the 4 months to your goal.

  • Ski/split touring program can be completed by either cycling, running, hiking, roller/xc skiing or touring skis.

  • Strength sessions reference both bodyweight and gym based activities. The strength exercises that the Plans reference, can be viewed without buying the plan so a general sense of required gear can be garnered. You can swap/adjust exercises so the Strength sessions can be completed with body weight and a couple kettle bells.
